Tony and Michele Marchese
Tony Marchese - The Versatile Violinist

Biography

Mr. Anthonay A Marchese

For over forty years, Anthony (Tony) Marchese has entertained audiences with his emotionally imbued violin performances. As a fifth grader, Tony discovered that he possessed a natural disposition for music and learned that the violin could serve as a powerful medium to creatively express his thoughts as he connected with listeners in a way which transcended mere musical mechanics. He determined that he not only desired to express what was as he became acquainted with and proficient in the music of celebrated classical giants such as Paganini and Tchaikovsky but also considered what could be as he cultivated a stylistic synergy including genres such as rock, country, bluegrass, Irish, sacred, and classical.

Tony is convinced that the development of artistic expression is a lifelong endeavor. As a child, he received private lessons and participated in the Interlochen Arts Academy. Several years later, he received instruction from the Concert Master of the University of Toledo orchestra. He continues to develop his expertise by performing with other musicians in the area and serving as a teacher to numerous violinists in Michigan and Ohio.

A father of six and GM retiree, Tony is more engaged with his music than ever before. His reputation as the region’s “Versatile Violinist” has provided opportunities to participate in a variety of musical groups with his wife, Michele, of 35 years. Together they perform for numerous events throughout the community.  They volunteer their time for such organizations as the Monroe Center Cancer Connection, Relay for Life, Monroe Center for Healthy Aging, the United Way, several homeless organizations, Monroe Intermediate School District, and the Monroe County Community College.
